David Papadopulo Memorial Scholarship

The Nevada Contractors Association recently awarded the David Papadopulo Memorial Scholarship to three students attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  Recipients include: Cheryl Fa'afili Meredith, Monika Koscien, and Sean E. Robinson.  They are all Las Vegas-based residents pursuing construction related careers. Recipients must be either junior or senior level students with a 2.5 GPA or higher, and enrolled in the civil engineering or construction management departments. The monies will help pay for tuition expenses for the 2009-2010 school year.

The scholarship program was created in 2007 to honor David “Pappy” Papadopulo who died tragically on November 6th, 2006. He was 38. Papadopulo, an executive with Olson Precast Co., served on the Board of Directors of the Nevada Contractors Association. He believed that education was critical to the industry’s future.
